Students Celebrated Achievements at Degree Congregations
Our post-graduates joined some 3,000 students to celebrate success at the University of Leicester when they were awarded their MBA degrees on 9 July 2003 in the De Montford Hall.

A total of 2,000 undergraduate students received their Bachelor's degrees while higher degrees were conferred on approximately 1,000 postgraduate students at Degree Congregations on 9~11 July 2003.

The degrees were conferred by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Robert Burgess.

Professor Burgess said: "I would like to congratulate all of the University's new graduates. The excellent results reflect both the ability of our students, and the quality of the University's teaching and research. The University's teaching has been consistently rated excellent by the Quality Assurance Agency in its rigorous subject-based quality assessments. The University of Leicester is ranked in the top 20 institutions in league tables compiled by the Financial Times and The Sunday Times".

"The skills, attributes and abilities of these graduates will enable them to make a decisive impact on their chosen careers in the knowledge-based economy. We wish them every success and, in the age of lifelong learning, we are sure that many of our graduates will wish to return to the University to update their professional skills and knowledge by taking a higher degree offered on campus or by distance learning".
